Press Release
The exhibition will take 90 questions from/to art education as curatorial clues, exploring the connotations of those historical signs that have been neglected and misinterpreted, and asking about countless ideological predicaments that have been formed or are being formed at the present time; it will also take the opportunity to rethink the mission and potential of art intellectuality and the academy’s perseverance in this era where capital and power are quietly invisible and sensibility is generally deprived of. And through the intersection and “presence” of different individual life experiences brought about by artistic perception, we rethink the mission and potential of art’s intellectuality and academy’s perseverance in today’s era where capital and power are quietly invisible and sensibility is universally deprived. Three video works by Wang Jianwei: Sympton (2006), Hostage (2008) and The Morning Time Disappeared (2014) will be specially screened on November 18th from 14:30 – 16:30.
